To Radix:

Just over 30 years ago, the University of Bradford in the UK hosted a Disaster Research Unit which published a series of "Occasional Papers". With thanks to James Lewis http://datum.gn.apc.org and JC Gaillard http://jc.gaillard.monsite.orange.fr who sent me hard copies of some of these papers (thanks also to Ben Wisner who has agreed to look through his archives once his shoulder heals!), I have scanned them and posted them online at http://www.ilankelman.org/bdru.html Thank you also to James Lewis for providing his memories of the formation of the Unit for this website.

If anyone else might have copies of the remaining "Occasional Papers" and be willing to send them to me for scanning and posting online, please let me know (I would not recommend posting your only copy). As well, further reflections about the Bradford Disaster Research Unit would be welcome for the website.

With thanks to those who were involved in the Unit, producing some excellent material which is still highly relevant today--an impressive situation (because of the high quality of the work) but also a sad situation (because we have not learned from and applied some of this work).

Ilan
