Welcome to the RADIX List Serv!
This is a discussion list developed as a complement to the web site, RADIX:
http://www.radixonline.org/
The web site, and this discussion list, is dedicated to exploring radical
interpretations of disasters and radical solutions. By that we mean issues
that go to the root of disasters, their underlying causes, and also to the
kinds of issues that are usually ignored or invisible. The web site and
discussion list is inclusive and non sectarian, with a commitment to respect
for diversity, social justice, and ecological sustainability.
We have set up this list in order to reserve the web site as a resource base
for those who are studying these issues, for teachers and students, for
activists, for practitioners. The list will offer a more interactive and
spontaneous way of sharing brief news items, ideas, commentaries without the
time lag involved in placing things on the web site.
Given the way that RADIX was created, in the immediate aftermath of
earthquakes in El Salvador and Gujarat, several overlapping lists were used
come up with a group of likely participants in this discussion. We may have
made mistakes. If so, we apologize. You simply have to unsubscribe in the
usual way.
